You may remember a few years back a fabulously unusual website that was part of the hype-machine for the ‘indie’ film Donnie Darko. It’s still online at www.donniedarkofilm.com
Since then it seems either the viral marketing efforts of film marketeers are either achieving less of an impact, of perhaps the film studios’ marketing budgets are too squeezed these days. That’s why we were particularly excited by this fabulous short video posted online for the upcoming Sir Ridley Scott sci-fi epic Prometheus, featuring Guy Pearce in-character giving a futuristic TED presentation. Inventive, intelligent and excellently scripted. Here’s the tudou link. Have you ever tried bowling with a pineapple? It's not easy. A pineapple has a mind of its own. It is a cunning fruit that defies the currently-accepted laws of physics surrounding rolling stuff along the floor.
That's what the Pure team found out when we embarked upon officially opening our new work station in the former* French Concession. Why roll a pineapple you ask? Well it's all a feng shui thing. We roll the pineapple in through the entrance, and (supposedly) the money will follow. If only increasing one's chances of success in business was always so easy! *we have to use the word 'former' here in order not to get fined 40,000 RMB like a certain pizza restaurant. In the creative industry it's just nicer to be friends with each other. Creativity is like a zombie plague, we feed off each other. Inspiration is infectious. If it's done right, it is for the betterment of us all and improves our work. It drives us to new heights, keeps our minds racing and keeps the bar set high.
One company doing wonders on the other side of the line is BBH, and they just turned 30. Congrats dudes!
